
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the founding of our nation, the court is pleased to announce ‘The Judiciary and the Arts’, a project of The Hon. Robert A. Katzmann: Justice For All Courts and the Community Initiative in partnership with the District of Connecticut’s Public Outreach Committee and the Federal Bar Association. Prizes will be awarded: First Place $500, Second Place $300; Third Place $200. The deadline for received entries is May 1st, 2026. Click here for additional information.
The court invites Connecticut high school students (9-12 grades) to participate in learning the historic and present-day role of the federal courts and its development of the law in the United States through the visual arts. There will be three proposed projects to choose from:
- Voices of the American Jury
- Naturalizations-Mural Mockup
- Picturing Amistad: An Exploration of the Amistad Case
