Court Holidays

The United States District Court for the District of Connecticut is closed on legal holidays.

*The court is in recess on the designated days below. When the court is in recess, the Clerk’s Office public counters are closed. Pursuant to Rule 77 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the district court is considered always open for filing motions and any papers. Electronic filing is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Paper filing is accepted in the court’s drop box at the entrance of each courthouse every day except Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, and the Clerk’s Office phone lines are staffed during regular business hours (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.).
